Merko Ehitus halted board member Tõnu Korts' contract

AS Merko Ehitus halted the contract with member of board Tõnu Korts. On
December 10, 2008 the Security Police Board announced Tõnu Korts as suspect in
bribery. Merko Ehitus is aware that Tõnu Korts was interrogated as a suspect
yesterday but was not detained further. Tõnu Korts is a long-time and highly
valued employee of the company and the company in convinced that Tõnu Korts has
not broken the law. Despite that Merko Ehitus due to its enlisted company
status has decided to halt the board member contract of Tõnu Korts until final
conclusion of circumstances. The company has not been presented as suspect. The
Prosecutor's Office has prohibited the company to publish information about the
investigation, but according to the company's information the suspicion in
unwarranted.
