The Supervisory Board of Inbank AS has decided to enter into negotiations for
the sale of Coop Pank AS’s shareholding, which Inbank acquired as a financial
investment in January 2017.
The reason for entering into sales negotiations is the interest of potential
buyers, which is supported by Inbank's long-term strategic focus for
strengthening international business. One of the possible buyers of the holding
is TÜ Eesti Ühistupank.
According to Priit Põldoja, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, the timing is
appropriate for the transaction. "Coop Pank has gained a new strong management,
the bank has a clear and distinct strategy, and the role of Inbank as an active
shareholder is decreasing. We want our capital and energy to contribute into our
international expansion, " Põldoja said.
Inbank will inform market participants about the possible sale of shares through
the stock exchange information system. It is not currently possible to confirm
that the initiation of negotiations will lead to actual transactions.
